In this artist incursion experience I will come to your school and show the students my process of mixed-media pyrography artmaking with a display and discussion around my inspirations, resources, tools and safety to production. Students will then be guided to create their own bird artwork based on the materials show. Workshop theme or topic can be customised to suit the needs or focus of your class.
This workshop suits anyone interested in exploring drawing and studying the details of place and the built environment. It focusses on capturing the essences and details of spaces. Embedded with the principles and elements of technical drawing, it's perfect for those who are curious about buildings, history and architecture. Workshop theme or topic can be customised to suit the needs or focus of your class.
Wattle Day celebrates Australia's national flower, the Golden Wattle. This workshop is an opportunity for an artist visit and talk followed by a wattle painting and drawing experience for students.
The salt dough workshop invites students to experiment with the tactile joys of clay and sculpture in a fun and safe way. Students will be guided to create an ornament or figurine according the the theme requested. Ornaments can then be baked and painted. For an additional fee the salt dough can be swapped for DAS clay which will not need to be baked.
This workshop is a hands-on craft activity perfect for building fine motor skills and connecting with nature. It is a perfect opportunity for those wanting to artfully bring a bit of nature indoors! Using oranges, twine, beading and other natural and upcycled treasures (seed pods, nuts, leaves, wood etc) students will create a a beautiful ornamental sun catcher to hang by the window or in the classroom. These are also beautiful, natural baby mobiles.
Outdoor enjoyment and learning amongst nature has so many benefits for the body and soul! This workshop teaches participants how to engage creatively with nature and provides opportunities to make stunning nature-inspired art by the free materials around us. It encourages a connection to nature and focusses on the qualities of observation, details, pattern and place. Opportunities for mixed-media and multimedia art too.
This is a perfect workshop for those wishing to experience a still life drawing activity. Students will observe a stunning bunch of blooms and create a striking line drawing based on the inspirations provided. They will leave with a unique and bold artwork ready to display or hang.
This workshop helps students take a simple line drawing into a wonderfully textured and rich piece of collaged art. Utilising the fun and random nature of paper tearing, cutting, scrunching, trimming and shredding to texturise, participants will leave with a lively collage which is bold and fun. Paper is in expensive and this workshop also places value on the way that art can be made with whatever you have! It encourages students to effectively mix simple media and explore!
Watercolor painting is a wonderful way to bring a soft, complimentary medium to drawing and strong line works. Theme can be customisable.
